Pear Tree House had a ROARSOME day!
On Friday, the residents at Pear Tree House spent the day at Knowsley Safari Park which boasts hundreds of animals from across the world. The group were excited to get up close and personal with the animals. The highlight of the day for the residents was the thrill of the Safari Drive, which provided a chance to get even closer to a menagerie of wild animals, such as meerkats, tigers, and lions, with assistance from Preston Community Transport.
Four keen residents, Thelma, Tracy, Leon, and Ann were joined by four staff members, Michelle, Jackie, Yolanta, and Sarah, for the adventure. Alongside the fabulous residents and team, another little visitor attended, this was the first outing for the Pear Tree House ‘Stuffed with Love’ Teddy.
The trip was made possible with the help of Care Home Manager, Charlene and Care Manager, Victoria at Pear Tree House, who worked hard to ensure that the trip was as pleasurable as possible. They were on hand to give the residents any help or support they may have needed throughout the day, and to make sure everyone stayed safe.
Pear Tree House’s residents came away with wonderful memories of their time at the safari park, and were reminded that no matter their age, there's always something exciting and educational to explore. Once back at the home, they mentioned what an amazing day they had and how much fun they had seeing the animals.
The enthusiasm and energy of the group bonded together to make the experience an extraordinary one. They got to witness the animals up close, admire nature and appreciate the beauty of the park. They laughed, sang, and engaged with the animals – it was a great way to spend the day. The excursion to Knowsley Safari Park was yet another way for Pear Tree House Care Home to ensure its residents are provided with the best quality of life.
Victoria Gaile, Care Manager at Pear Tree House Care Home, said: "This was such a great outing for our residents and great to see them enjoying themselves. We are looking forward to planning more outings like this in the future."
The park was the perfect place to enjoy a much-anticipated outing and bring joy to the residents. The staff and residents at Pear Tree House Care Home are already looking to plan the next exciting adventure.
