Jan qualified as a registered nurse in 1981, training at West Suffolk Hospital and earning the Edith Cavell Award for excellence. She worked across NHS sectors, progressing to Modern Matron before moving into the care home sector. Starting as a Deputy Manager, she rapidly transformed a home from 'Requires Improvement' to 'Outstanding'. In 2020, she successfully commissioned a new care home during COVID-19, achieving full occupancy in under two years.

Now a Regional Support Manager, Jan is passionate about developing teams, enhancing care standards, and ensuring residents receive the highest quality care across Norfolk.

Clare Pethick (Regional Manager for South of England)

Clare joined Danforth in 2024 as Regional Manager for the South, bringing a wealth of experience and a lifelong dedication to the care sector. Her career has spanned a diverse range of roles—from Care Assistant and Hospitality Manager to Property Maintenance Lead, Registered Manager, and Regional Support Manager.

Known for her hands-on approach and commitment to excellence, Clare has delivered impressive results throughout her career. Among her proudest achievements are securing a "Good" rating across all five areas in a CQC inspection, and making history as the first woman to be named Regional Maintenance Manager of the Year.

Driven by a passion for quality and a belief in strong, values-led leadership, Clare is focused on ensuring outstanding care and empowering the teams she supports to achieve their best, every day.

As the Regional Learning & Development Manager for the Anglian region, Debs is passionate about helping individuals grow in their roles. Her training sessions are interactive, engaging, and designed to bring out the best in every participant. Always open to new ideas, she encourages feedback and fosters a positive learning environment where staff feel empowered to develop their expertise.
