Celebrating Jet Isherwood: Sid Bailey's Rising Star
All the staff and residents at Sid Bailey are over the moon for one of their exceptional carers, Jet Isherwood. Jet joined Sid Bailey when it opened on May 1, 2023, embarking on her journey in care with the goal of becoming a nurse.
Over the past fourteen months, Jet has honed her skills and knowledge, demonstrating remarkable compassion, empathy, and dedication. Working alongside experienced staff, Jet has become a role model for new team members and has built loving and trusting relationships with the residents. One resident shared, “Jet is a beautiful girl, and nothing is ever a trouble. She is also lovely to talk to and will sit and listen to me ramble on.”
Recognizing Jet's growth into a fabulous carer, General Manager Tori nominated her for a ‘National Stars of Social Care Award.’ Tori highlighted Jet’s genuine care, innovative thinking, and her exceptional contributions, such as organizing cookie baking with residents during Easter.
Jet was shortlisted for the New to Care Award and became one of nine finalists. On the awards night, excitement filled the air as Jet was announced the winner. Although she is currently traveling in Australia and couldn't collect her trophy, Care Manager Sarah and Day Senior Rachel accepted the award on her behalf.
Jet was thrilled to hear the news, saying, “Thank you, it means a lot. I can’t believe I got it, I’m in shock.” Her award is proudly displayed in the reception area at Sid Bailey, awaiting her return.
The Sid Bailey community is incredibly proud of Jet and her achievements and looks forward to supporting her as she continues her journey in care and nursing. Well done, Jet!
