Bringing Music and Joy to Broadlands Lodge Care Home

Residents of Broadlands Lodge Care Home enjoyed a memorable afternoon when Martin Leonard, a renowned entertainer, paid a visit to their care home. On the 14th of July, residents Evelyn Syer, Marie Bales, Pam Reynolds, Vanda Balfour, Peter Reeves, and Sacha Shelsher-Willers, were treated to an array of power ballads sung by Martin, which had them tapping their toes and singing along.

Martin’s cheerful presence was highly appreciated by everyone present as he lit up the home with his catchy tunes. Martin also took the time to get to know the residents, giving them a chance to speak about their life stories and experiences.

The residents were thrilled to have Martin in their care home. Marie Bales in particular, said it was “a day that none of us will ever forget” and that it was “very special” for the residents.

"It was such a delight to be able to sing along with Martin, it was a wonderful experience to be able to bond with my fellow Residents and listen to some great music!" - Pam Reynolds

The event was a big hit and Broadlands Lodge Care Home staff expressed that everyone truly enjoyed it and were able to experience how music brings people together. Through this initiative, the care home was also able to promote social interaction and inclusion.

The experience was incredibly memorable for the entertainer, who felt truly special with the appreciation of his unique talents, and also for the attendees who cheerfully joined in.
