Angela, the first resident at Heatherton House Care Home, was the guest of honour at a special celebration for her birthday. The staff at Heatherton House went above and beyond to make Angela feel special on her day and they truly celebrated in style.
The team at Heatherton House Care home arranged a family tea incorporating her favourite chocolate cake and lots of other little surprises. The team made an effort to wear hats throughout the day, showering Angela with flowers and gifts to show just how special she is. The highlight of the day was a family tea party that was held in Angela’s room. She was delighted to be surrounded by her family, friends and the staff and Angela particularly enjoyed her favourite chocolate cake.
Angela's family were incredibly impressed with the gesture. The efforts of the staff were not overlooked by Angela's family. Her family thanked Heatherton House staff with a card that read, “To the wonderful Heatherton house team; thank you so much for making Angela’s birthday so very special. You are amazing!”
At Heatherton House, birthdays are celebrated with great enthusiasm to remember and acknowledge the life of a person, and Angela's birthday was certainly no exception! It's not about buying gifts or throwing a party, but instead about celebrating someone's life. On this day, Angela's celebration will be remembered fondly by everyone at Heatherton House for many years to come.
"Celebrating Angela's birthday at Heatherton House is so important to us, not only as a chance to celebrate another year, but as an opportunity to show Angela how much she means to us and how much we value her presence in our community." Amanda Jelbert, Care Home Manager.
