Halloween spirit swept through Primrose House in Brough last week, transforming the care home into a spooktacular wonderland for residents, staff, and their families. The atmosphere was electrifying as everyone came together for an enchanting Halloween party filled with laughter, games, and delightful treats.
Residents took great joy in helping to decorate Primrose House with all things Halloween. Pumpkins, flickering candles, cut-out bats, spiders, and hanging witches' hats adorned the home, creating an ambience that was both exciting and festive. The transformation brought smiles and a twinkle to the eyes of everyone who walked through the doors.
Grace, a dedicated member of the kitchen team, outdid herself with a remarkable hot food stand. She served up a mouth-watering selection of hotdogs, burgers, and jacket potatoes topped with cheese or a hearty chilli con carne. The "spiders' eggs," a creatively crafted dish by Grace, were a particular highlight that garnered much admiration.
Throughout the party, vibrant games ensued, bringing out the playful side of all participants. Attendees were divided into three teams, and the competition was fierce and friendly. Classic games like apple bobbing brought back fond memories, while the mummy wrapping contest, where each team quickly raced against the clock to wrap one of their own in rolls of paper, provided endless hilarity. Team 2 emerged triumphantly as the winning mummies!
The excitement didn't stop there. The slime game challenged all to guess how many spiders were hidden within without peeking—exhilarating and somewhat squirmy! The "What Am I?" game, where each participant had to guess the spooky character tagged on their forehead, brought rounds of laughter and joy. Once again, Team 2 claimed victory, crowned the overall winners of this delightful affair.
The Halloween party at Primrose House was a testament to the vibrant community spirit alive and well within its walls. It was a day filled with warmth, camaraderie, and treasured moments. Families left with hearts full of gratitude and the comforting knowledge that their loved ones are cherished in such a caring and joyous environment.
