Rossendale House Hosts Engaging Quiz Night for Care Home Open Week
As part of the "I Do It My Way" themed care home open week, the Lifestyle team at Rossendale House spent the day showcasing a variety of activities. The highlight was a well-loved quiz night, which proved to be an enjoyable way for residents, including those with dementia, to test their knowledge, reminisce, and feel involved as players, quizmasters, or scorekeepers.
The quiz featured eight diverse rounds: Royals, General Knowledge, Name That Place, Pop Culture, Animals, All About Burnley, Key World Events and a music Music Round - Name That Tune,
After the evening meal, residents prepared for the quiz by brushing up on facts and getting ready for a night of friendly competition. The dining area was set with tables, pretzels, nuts, and popcorn to snack on while contemplating the questions. Residents formed teams, allowing everyone to contribute by reading, speaking, writing, and sharing their input.
The collaborative effort led to lively discussions as teams worked together to find the answers. At the end of the night, residents celebrated with a glass of wine, and the winning team enjoyed a small bottle of wine and some chocolates for their efforts.
For those who preferred to work in established teams or opted out of the quiz night, the quiz was offered the next day as a stimulating one-on-one activity, ensuring everyone could participate in the fun. It was an enjoyable and inclusive evening for all at Rossendale House.
