Residents 'exercise' their right to fun at Heath Lodge
The fun continued this week at Heath Lodge as the residents started to explore more aspects
of the Newly installed Oomph Wellness interactive tool.
Oomph is a wellness software tool that can be added to residents’ care plans and caters to all
interests and abilities; offering an array of hobbies and activities: something for everyone.
Residents gathered in the cinema room and chose an activity that they could all do as a group.
Today they chose Chair Zumba with a virtual instructor, which the group loved. The class
lasting around 15 minutes created a buzz in the group and of course much chatter and giggling
as everyone tried out the Zumba activities.
The class was judged to be a great success with all its participants!
Laura Johnson Care Plan Manager Commented “Chair Zumba was a resounding success this
morning! The residents all chose this activity from a host of other things on Oomph and they
were all able to join in, in a way that suited them. Judging by the laughter and the buzz after
the class it really seems like this class may become a regular fixture. We are pleased to have so
many different options on offer with Oomph.
Gentle exercise like this for short bursts can really help to improve both outlook and mood. It
also creates memories and sometimes even friendships!”
