Residents at Heath Lodge enjoyed a delightful afternoon making friends with some incredible creatures, including Bob the snake, Matilda the bearded dragon, Biscuit the chinchilla, and Maple the bunny rabbit!
The friendly and gentle animals brought immense joy to everyone. It's well-documented that spending time with animals can reduce stress and anxiety, and combat feelings of isolation. Additionally, these interactions can stimulate the senses and improve overall mood, a benefit clearly seen among the residents.
Bert, the animal handler, shared fascinating facts about each animal, capturing everyone’s attention. The visit was such a success that another one is already being planned for the near future.
Danforth Care Homes are currently welcoming residents, If you or a loved one wish to find out more information or come along, explore the facilities, and meet the staff, you can do so by contacting the enquiry team.
