At Barton Manor, resident desires are taken to heart, and recently, a magical event was brought to life to fulfil their wish for an Afternoon Tea Party. The lounge of Barton Manor was transformed into a whimsical wonderland, fit for the Queen of Hearts herself.
The star of the event was the remarkable Myfanwy, a beloved staff member who generously graced the gathering as the Mad Hatter. In the spirit of the Mad Hatter's quirkiness, both staff and residents donned multi-coloured hair bands. Even the maintenance manager, under duress, joined in the fun by wearing a hair band.
The afternoon began with a comedic reading of an Alice in Wonderland poem which brought a hefty amount of laughter to the gathering. It was a perfect reflection of the playful and light-hearted atmosphere.
The culinary delights were just as enchanting. The talented Chef at Barton Manor crafted "eat me" and "drink me" biscuits, evoking the magic of Wonderland. These delightful treats were savoured alongside a variety of mixed teacups and teapots.
Before long, it was time for Barton Bingo, a beloved activity in the care home. What made it even more special was the participation of relatives. Once Barton Bingo concluded, the eagerly awaited afternoon tea made its entrance. The spread included mouthwatering cupcakes and an array of delectable sandwiches, bringing the event to a delightful close.
This whimsical story from Barton Manor showcases their dedication to creating moments of joy and wonder for their residents. It's a reminder that in their care the spirit of fun, creativity, and laughter is also nourished.
