Taste of Thailand Thrills Residents at Old Norse Lodge
Today was a day of joyous celebration at Old Norse Lodge in Grimsby, as the residents embarked on an extraordinary culinary journey led by none other than Chef Theo Michaels. This event marked the halfway point of the delightful culinary series 'Round the world with Theo', and what better way to celebrate than with a remarkable Thai feast?
The menu, curated by Chef Theo, featured tantalising Thai Prawn Cakes, aromatic Thai Green Curry, and delectable Thai Banana Pancakes. The residents' taste buds were treated to an explosion of authentic Thai flavours, leaving everyone thoroughly impressed by the culinary expertise on display.
But the excitement didn't end with the scrumptious meal. The activities team at Old Norse Lodge went above and beyond, creating a fully immersive Thai-themed afternoon that captivated the hearts and minds of all our residents. The atmosphere was alive with the enchanting sounds of traditional Thai music, courtesy of our Alexa devices, setting the perfect backdrop for the day's festivities.
Residents eagerly participated in a fun and informative Thai Quiz, which covered basic facts, heritage, and stunning island landscapes. Questions sparked curiosity and led to lively discussions about Thailand's rich culture. The home was buzzing with excitement as residents engaged with the quiz, looking at pictures, and exploring vibrant images on our laptops and iPads.
The highlight of the day was the smiles and laughter shared among our residents. Their high spirits were infectious, and it was evident that this special event had left a lasting impression on everyone. The sense of community and joy was palpable, showcasing the warm and caring environment that Old Norse Lodge embodies.
As we anticipate the second half of our culinary journey with Chef Theo Michaels, we can't wait to share more memorable experiences with our residents. The complete cookbook is soon to follow, allowing families and friends to recreate these wonderful moments at home.
Stay tuned for more exciting updates from Old Norse Lodge, where every day brings new adventures and cherished memories.
