Summer Solstice at Heatherton House

At Heatherton House Care Home, the staff were keen to make the summer solstice an extra special day for the residents. The tables in the garden were beautifully decorated with flowers, crockery, and linen. Delicious cakes had been created with the help of the residents and were covered in strawberries and cream – an absolute summer classic.

The afternoon tea party was a great success with the residents laughing and smiling as they enjoyed the homemade cakes and cups of tea. It was clear the residents and staff and were all having a wonderful time as they enthusiastically shared stories and discussed music and card games around the garden.

One resident summed it up perfectly, “This has been such a lovely afternoon – I feel so happy, and I have loved spending time with my new friends at Heatherton House. Thank you.”

The staff at Heatherton House Care Home put in time and effort to ensure each resident had a special day, and it certainly paid off as the smiles were infectious. The summer solstice is certainly a day to be celebrated and enjoyed, and it was clear that the staff and residents had made it extra special.
