On the 29th of August Rossendale House Care Home opened its doors and hearts to the Home Safari assisted animal therapy group.
The brave staff and residents took part in a hands-on petting session in the home. Where our bravest of residents Brian held and petted every fluffy animal and every creepy critter passed his way.
While some of the residents sat by and watched from afar, they still admired the beautiful long haired rabbit Mac, the lovely little guinea pig named Dora and not for getting Wolfie the Skinny Pig (bold Guinea pig), Cyril the tortoise, Betty the Bearded dragon, Woody the hedgehog, Bruce the Bluetongue skink.
Also, the fabulous creepy critters Noodle the Millipede and Igor the large hissing cockroach.
Brian and Renee, our residents, showed no fear at all and had a wonderful experience with every animal and critter passed their way.
We even opened our doors to residents’ families who also came and enjoyed the afternoon with their parents and grandparents. It was a lovely afternoon had by all and some wonderful memories were definitely made.
