At Rossendale House, the spirit of the harvest season came alive through a week-long celebration filled with activities, entertainment, and heartwarming moments. The residents, their families, and the entire community were brought together in an extravaganza that left everyone beaming with joy.
The festivities began on a bright note as residents embarked on a pumpkin-picking adventure at Gorden Rigs on the 16th of October. Brenda and Brian in particular, revelled in the experience of selecting the perfect pumpkins, which they would later bring home to decorate for the upcoming Harvest Festival. The day's adventure also included a visit to the on-site coffee shop, where they enjoyed indulging in delectable cakes.
On the 18th of October, the grand Harvest Festival took place, setting the stage for an afternoon of pure delight. Gabbie, a talented singer, paid tribute to the legendary Doris Day. Residents and their families alike were captivated by Gabbie's performance, and the event became a sing-along and dance-along experience that brought everyone closer.
Adding to the festivities, the delightful Home Safari brought a touch of the wild into Rossendale House. Residents had the pleasure of cuddling rabbits, guinea pigs, and even an adorable skunk that peacefully slumbered through the event. The joy on their faces was unmistakable as they interacted with these furry companions.
Doreen's recollection of the harvest festival reminded her of cherished childhood memories, and Brian's love for the songs from the film "Calamity Jane" reflected the enduring power of music to touch the heart. Brenda's daughter expressed her appreciation for the home's efforts to host such events, which brought the entire community together for an afternoon of fun and entertainment.
This grand celebration of the harvest season was not only about the activities but the essence of bringing the community and families together. It aimed to put smiles on the residents' faces and create an atmosphere of joy and togetherness within the home.
