Harbour Manor recently celebrated Happy Bee Day, recognising the crucial role bees play in the health of our planet. Bees are essential for pollinating approximately a third of the world's food production. To spread awareness and protect these special insects, the staff dedicated the day to making the garden more bee and pollinator friendly.
New plants and flowers were added to the garden, and "Bee cups" of water were placed around to provide hydration for the bees. The staff also continued working on the upcoming wildflower garden, ensuring a welcoming environment for pollinators.
After all the hard work, Chef Ellie prepared a beautiful display of homemade lavender biscuits, chocolate-dipped honeycomb, and bee-themed cupcakes. The residents enjoyed these delicious treats, celebrating their efforts to support and protect the vital bee population.
Danforth Care Homes are currently welcoming residents, If you or a loved one wish to find out more information or come along, explore the facilities, and meet the staff, you can do so by contacting the enquiry team.
