Old Norse Lodge in Grimsby recently experienced a heartwarming day filled with creativity and bonding. Angie, the daughter of one of our residents, visited our home to engage in a delightful crafting session with the residents. This special event showcased the close-knit community that thrives within our care home.
Angie guided the residents through making mixed media picture frames. Each frame, uniquely crafted, contained a cherished photograph of the resident who made it. The joy and concentration on their faces were truly moving. Residents immersed themselves in the activity, selecting materials and colours that reflected their personalities and memories.
The room was abuzz with laughter and chatter as everyone worked on their frames. Angie provided gentle support and encouragement, making each resident feel special and capable. The pride in completing their beautiful frames was evident as they admired each other's handiwork.
The choice of activity proved to be more than just an artistic endeavour. It was a meaningful way to stimulate minds and foster social connections. Each resident’s face lit up as they shared stories behind the photos they selected, rekindling fond memories and strengthening their sense of community.
This event is a testament to the care and attention we dedicate to making every day special. It’s moments like these that reassure families their loved ones are not only well cared for but also living fulfilling, joyful lives at Old Norse Lodge.
