Coronation House Residents Unite for Heartfelt Remembrance Parade
Residents of Coronation House in Thetford enjoyed a heartfelt day paying tribute to those who served in the armed forces during the Remembrance Sunday parade. This annual event in Thetford Town Centre brought together members of the community to honour and remember the sacrifices made by military personnel throughout history.
The day began with a solemn parade featuring the Armed Forces, local contingents, veterans, and children from local groups. Residents who attended the event found a spot in the Market Place to watch the proceedings. The atmosphere was deeply moving as they joined in to sing the National Anthem, hymns, and prayers. Reverend Peter Herbert gave a poignant speech, reinforcing the importance of remembering those who gave so much for their country.
As the parade concluded, wreaths were solemnly laid in memory of the fallen. Cadets from the Army and Royal Air Force paid homage by reading the names of those commemorated on the memorial. For those who remained in the comfort of Coronation House, the parade was broadcast on television, allowing them to partake in the national remembrance.
The residents shared a reflective moment together as they watched the wreath-laying at the Cenotaph in London, remembering their own loved ones with reverence. Events like these highlight the strong sense of community and care within Coronation House, making it a home that honours the past while caring deeply for those in the present.
