Commemorating the 80th Anniversary of D-Day at Orchard Manor
Today, the residents and staff of Orchard Manor came together to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of D-Day. Some of our residents shared their memories of World War II, offering poignant insights into their experiences.
To honour this significant day, we enjoyed a delicious wartime lunch, immersing ourselves in the flavours of the past. Our lovely Sharon dressed up for the occasion, adding to the nostalgic atmosphere with her authentic attire.
Throughout the day, we engaged in a wartime quiz, shared poetry, and, of course, enjoyed some heartwarming singing. As we reflect on the sacrifices made by our heroes, let us continue to remember and honour them with heartfelt gratitude, recognizing their bravery and dedication to securing the freedom we enjoy today. Let us carry their memory not just today, but every day, ensuring that their legacy lives on.
Danforth Care Homes are currently welcoming residents, If you or a loved one wish to find out more information or come along, explore the facilities, and meet the staff, you can do so by contacting the enquiry team.
