Rossendale House are committed to making their residents' dreams come true and enhancing their quality of life in every way possible. Recently, Rossendale House had the privilege of making one resident's dreams a reality, as Doreen, one of their beloved residents, got to experience a bucket list activity she had always longed for.
Doreen had two dreams on her bucket list: to have bright pink Barbie nails and to have her eyebrows tattooed (so they were always perfect). While the team and visiting beauticians couldn't give Doreen an actual tattoo at Rossendale House’s dedicated team members were determined to still make her dreams come true.
First on the list were the bright pink Barbie nails. The talented staff, well-versed in pampering and grooming, gave Doreen a manicure that left her nails dazzling in her favourite shade of pink. The sheer joy on Doreen's face as she admired her vibrant nails was priceless. It was a reminder of the little joys in life that can bring immense happiness.
Next up were the perfect eyebrows. Doreen had always wanted her brows to be just right. The team carefully pencilled her eyebrows, creating a look that left Doreen feeling confident and beautiful. She expressed her satisfaction, saying, "I've always wanted my brows tattooed, and although pencilling them is not as permanent, I really do like them!"
Doreen's experience serves as a testament to the importance of person-centred care and the dedication of the team at Rossendale House. Thorough time is taken to learn about the life history and experiences of their residents, along with a deep understanding of their wishes. It's not just about providing the necessary care but also about nurturing residents' dreams and desires, no matter how big or small.
Rossendale House are looking forward to granting further wishes on the bucket lists of their residents and celebrating together each time an achievement arises; whether the celebration be an array of fresh-baked cakes and afternoon tea, or an evening enjoying a tipple or two with their fellow neighbours.
