At Primrose House, providing enriching experiences for their residents is always at the forefront of what they do. Recently, Doreen, Amy, and Eloise had the opportunity to unite with Hunsley Primary School for a memorable day filled with a harvest festival, a bear-naming ceremony, and an enlightening talk about the importance of food banks.
Doreen, Amy, and Eloise attended the harvest festival at Hunsley Primary School, where they were welcomed with open arms by the children and staff. The festival was a delightful celebration of the season, with songs, stories, and the spirit of giving.
During the event, a special name was chosen for the beloved Primrose House bear and he was named ‘Dougal’. The choice was not just an arbitrary one; it was a collaborative effort that involved one of the children from the school.
Eloise, the Lifestyle Manager, took the opportunity to engage with the children and emphasise the importance of donating to food banks. She shared valuable insights about why these donations are essential and how they can make a significant impact on the lives of those in need.
Collaborating with the local school is a priority for Primrose House. It provides a unique opportunity for their residents to socialize outside of their home. Additionally, it creates a platform to not only engage in important discussions about social issues, such as food bank donations but to also have creative and light-hearted discussions that can only be carried by the imagination of children.
At Primrose House, the values of connection, education, and community are upheld with passion and dedication. This Harvest Festival day with Hunsley Primary School is a shining example of the impact our residents can have on the children, but also the impact the children can have on our residents. As Doreen summed up the day by saying “it was a lovely day out and seeing the children for their harvest assembly was fantastic.” Primrose House extend their gratitude to Hunsley Primary School for such an unforgettable day.
