John and the residents of Old Norse Lodge Care Home enjoyed their first week in the home and were delighted to find it filled with beautiful facilities. From a cinema to a library, a beauty salon to a sweet shop, and a gardening room, the home has something for everyone.
Residents at Old Norse Lodge Care Home also had the opportunity to enjoy their new introduction to Oomph! – an interactive activities programme designed to get residents up and active.
The programme, which was designed by experts in the in areas including dementia, mental health and arthritis encouraging residents to be creative and engaged and to take part in a range of activities that are tailored to their individual needs. From arts and crafts to music and drama, and from gentle exercise to outdoor activities, Oomph! offers something for everyone.
Beth, one of the residents was thrilled to see the Care Home Manager, Julie dressed up in preparation for the Kings Coronation. Beth is a royalist enthusiast and has been helping the team at Old Norse Lodge prepare and decorate the home. Over the bank holiday weekend, she will have her family and friends attend the home for an afternoon tea party.
The staff at Old Norse Lodge Care Home are equally thrilled with their new home and the amenities they can provide to their residents. “We’re so proud of the facilities we have here,” said one of the staff members. “We want to make sure our residents feel comfortable and at home here, and these amenities are a great way to do that.”
The residents of Old Norse Lodge Care Home have been enjoying their time at the home and have already formed strong bonds with one another. “It’s been wonderful getting to know everyone here. We’ve all become such good friends in such a short space of time,” said one of the residents.
