Opening the doors to residents at Heath Lodge Care Home
Opening the doors to residents at Heath Lodge Care Home
After weeks of hard work and preparation, we finally welcomed the first of many residents to Heath Lodge.
Our first three residents were given a warm welcome by staff and guests, as the home was officially opened by the Mayor of Holt, Cllr Rodney Smith, who was accompanied by his wife.
The residents and their family members were treated to an Afternoon High Tea of Fruit Scone, Clotted Cream and Jam, Cheese Scones, Red Onion Marmalade Sausage Rolls, Double Chocolate Brownies, Mini Pavlovas, Raspberry and White Chocolate Cheesecakes and a selection of finger sandwiches supplied by our very own Chefs Jamie and Clare.
Residents and their family members were able to toast the opening with a glass of Prosecco.
Residents were also treated to the beautiful sounds of Violinist, Bertie Anderson, who played a combination of classical, soft pop and jazz which delighted all our guests. It was extra special to one resident, as he made Bertie’s Viola for her when she was just 12 years old. Bertie’s performance therefore became a very special and personal tribute to a man who helped her on her musical journey.
We had a lovely afternoon, and it was a pleasure to welcome our residents and their families to celebrate the official opening of Heath Lodge Care Home.
Carol Preston, Heath Lodge’s Manager commented “It has been nice to welcome our first residents this week. Because we welcome new residents in stages it gives everyone a chance to settle in before they are joined by other residents. It’s a system that works well for staff and residents. Today was a really nice way for family and residents to get familiar with their new surrounding and really feel at home.”
