Mother's Day laughter at Heath Lodge

Mother's Day is a time to be with family: for mothers to have their family around them and children to be able to celebrate the strength, wisdom and love of the Matriarch of the family. At Heath Lodge these celebrations are very important, as it’s a chance for the family to come together and maintain the connections that are so important.

To celebrate Mother’s Day family members were invited in to share an afternoon of fun and activities and to share a delicious Mother’s Day meal.

Our dedicated Chef prepared a special menu fit for the occasion with all the yummy trimmings.

Residents and guests tucked into Roast topside of beef, garlic, and thyme roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, vegetables, and cauliflower cheese with red wine gravy. Or Crispy fishcakes, Asian salad, crispy leeks, and pea shoots.

This tasty main was followed by a choice of Apple and berry crumble with crème anglaise, or Chocolate sponge pudding with chocolate sauce.

There followed a selection of fun activities devised by the care team with all mums being awarded a specially designed Mother’s Day Certificate, at the end of the afternoon.

Heath Lodge, which is based in Holt, prides itself on its inclusivity and welcoming atmosphere for family and friends of residents, not just for special events. The home boasts a variety of modern amenities and facilities, including a restaurant-style dining room, sweet shop, cinema, beauty salon, and our comfortable lounges, which are all used for various activities for residents and their loved ones to enjoy.

As Care Home Manager Carol Preston summaries, “We regularly welcome, family and friends to the home. It doesn’t have to be a special event. Sometimes an intimate meal with family can make all the difference to our residents, and it allows us to create that home-from-home atmosphere.”
