Heatherton House recently took centre stage in the fight against Alzheimer's during Alzheimer's Month. In order to honour the charity and raise awareness around Alzheimer’s, the care home hosted a charity bingo night on September 21st, inviting families and friends of residents to come together for a heartwarming evening filled with love, laughter, and generosity.
The event was a testament to Heatherton House's commitment to supporting causes that matter. Residents, staff, and their loved ones gathered to raise funds for Alzheimer's research and support. The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement as participants settled in for a game of bingo, each card representing a chance to make a difference.
Attendees enjoyed delicious cake as they indulged in friendly competition, and the raffle added an extra layer of excitement to the night. All the prizes were generously donated by the staff at Heatherton House, reflecting the dedication and care that define the community.
A particularly touching aspect of the event was the creation of memory cards by residents and staff. These cards held their fondest memories, both past and present, and were displayed in the garden for all to see. The hope was that these cherished memories would bring smiles to the faces of those who read them.
The impact of the evening seemed to be a resounding success Abbie said, "What an amazing night this was, such a laugh, thanks again," while Wendy expressed her gratitude, saying, "Lovely, thanks for a lovely evening."
In total, Heatherton House raised an impressive £126, a testament to the generosity and kindness of all who participated. The charity bingo night was more than just a fundraiser; it was an expression of the care, compassion, and commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of those affected by Alzheimer's.
