In 2023, the Chinese New Year starts on Sunday 22nd January and ends on Thursday 9th February, and will be celebrated of the Year of the Rabbit. If your birth year falls on the years listed you are a Rabbit 1951, 1963, 1975, 1999, 2011, 2023.
Fun fact: The date for Chinese New Year changes every year, this usually falls between 21st January and February 20th, and this is determined by the Chinese Luna Calendar.
Our residents at Broadlands Lodge, really enjoyed there homemade 3 Course Chinese Dinner. They had a selection of traditional starters to enjoy! Vegetable Spiring Rolls, Pork Cabbage Rolls, Pork Potato Dumplings served with Sweet Chilli Sauce and Prawn Crackers. For the main course they had Sweet & Sour Chicken, Chinese Prawn Curry served with Egg Fried Rice or Vegetable Stir Fry with Hoisin Sauce and saving the best till last DESERTS! Egg Tarts or Almond Cookies and of course fortune cookies!
Our activities team at Broadlands Lodge, are always planning and preparing to celebrate events worldwide, the team and residents love to get involved and show enthusiasm throughout.
