Barton Manor Hosts Heartwarming Christmas Lunch for Rotary Club
Barton Manor, located in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, recently hosted its second delightful Christmas dinner event for the Wisbech Rotary Club, one of the largest humanitarian service organisations globally. The Rotary Club, with its impressive 1.4 million members spread across 200 countries, is known for its commendable community initiatives, and Barton Manor wanted to express gratitude for their continued efforts.
The idea to host this festive gathering was conceived in November, when Andrea, the General Manager at Barton Manor, conversed with a Rotary Club member during a community event. Recognising the escalating costs of organising Christmas dinners for such a substantial group, Andrea graciously offered Barton Manor as a venue to host a Christmas lunch each week over three weeks, completely free of charge. This gesture was meant as a heartfelt thank-you for the impactful work of the Rotary Club.
This week marked the second in the series of festive celebrations. Barton Manor's skilled chefs delighted club members with a scrumptious three-course dinner. Adding to the festive atmosphere, a Rotary Club member donned a Santa suit, distributing Christmas gifts, and the members kicked off their charity raffle. The evening was elevated by a live performance from Alysha, a talented local singer and carer at Barton Manor. Her rendition of Christmas classics had everyone singing and dancing merrily. A special touch was provided by Wisbech Tesco, who donated a charming houseplant to each Rotary member, encouraging a green-fingered start to the New Year.
The Christmas dinners have not only fostered a sense of joy and gratitude but have also strengthened the community bonds. Andrea and the team at Barton Manor are enthusiastic about continuing this blossoming relationship and are excited to host more community events in the coming year. The spirit of togetherness and generosity truly shone through this holiday season.
