At Rossendale House, they recently transformed their space into a vibrant Mexican fiesta for a day filled with laughter and delicious flavours. Residents were treated to an unforgettable experience at the onsite pop-up restaurant, where they brought the lively atmosphere of Mexico right to their doorstep.
The highlight of the day was the lively performance by a Mexican mariachi band, whose upbeat tunes set the perfect tone for the festivities. Residents and staff alike were captivated by the energy, tapping their feet, and swaying to the rhythm of the music.
The transformation was not just visual; it extended to the taste buds as well. Mojitos flowed freely, and the residents had the opportunity to savour the vibrant flavours of local Mexican cuisine, prepared with care by the dedicated kitchen team.
The festivities continued with a variety of themed games that brought out the competitive and playful spirit of the residents. From "pin the tail on the donkey" to cactus hoop throwing, each game added an extra layer of excitement to the day.
The highlight of the afternoon, however, was the fancy dress extravaganza that saw both staff and residents getting into the spirit of the occasion. Laughter echoed through the halls as residents donning their sombreros and moustaches, revelled in the opportunity to showcase their playful side.
Residents were eager to share their thoughts on the day's festivities. Douglas, with a newfound sense of style, expressed, "What a great afternoon! I loved modelling my new hat and facial hair." Brenda also chimed in with "Don’t we all look great in our hats and moustaches? But they are itchy—I’m glad I don’t have a real one!"
The success of the Mexican fiesta at Rossendale House exemplifies our commitment to creating engaging and enjoyable experiences for our residents. By bringing the world to our residents, we aim to create and share memories that the residents will cherish.
