Jan Gibbs

Jan Gibbs

Regional Manager Southeast

Jan started her career journey working in various administrative roles and volunteering at her local hospital and care homes. Her aspiration was to be a nurse. She trained at West Suffolk Hospital, Bury St Edmunds and qualified in 1981, and remains a registered nurse today. Jan was awarded the Edith Cavell award in recognition for her hard work and determination during her training.

Jan has worked in many sectors of the NHS service. She became a Senior Nurse in ITU / CCU and later a Lead Nurse in her local hospice, and latterly a Modern Matron in 2010.

Jans' journey in the care sector started when she was asked to join a major care home leader as a deputy manager. Within 6 months Jan had been asked to take on the role of Home Manager and within 2 years had taken the home from requires improvement to Outstanding.

In 2020, Jan took on one of her biggest challenges, to commission a new home in her local town and just at the start of COVID. Jan successfully commissioned the home reaching full occupancy in less than 2 years. CQC rated the home 'good' at its first inspection. This was such a triumph considering the time, the impact of COVID and impact of major competitors within the area.

Jan' is very committed, passionate and driven. She has been instrumental in the development of others and ensuring that they are able to achieve their own goals and aspirations it was following her success with her commissioning home and success in developing her team that Jan was given the role of Regional Support Manager.
