Waterhouse Manor Celebrates First Year with Festivities
Waterhouse Manor, located on Soham Road in Fordham, Cambridgeshire, recently celebrated a milestone – its first anniversary. Since opening its doors in August 2024, the care home has been a beacon of compassionate care, camaraderie, and community engagement. The festivities marked a year of success, community spirit, and outstanding Mock CQC inspection results, which praised its commitment to exemplary care and awarded an overall ‘Good’ rating.
The anniversary celebration was a resounding success, drawing together residents, families, staff, and local community members for a day filled with joy and connection. With live performances from Joshua – The Tenor, Wicken Coronation Brass Band, and Kevin – Hank’s Shadow, the air was filled with music and laughter. Guests savoured a barbecue featuring Carter Street Butchers' finest produce, enjoyed cuddly encounters with alpacas and Bambi the miniature pony, and admired a celebratory cake by Charlotte’s Iced Delights. Colorful balloons from Rustik Hire & Party Supplies added to the festive atmosphere, complemented by ice creams from C.E. Fuller Funeral Directors.
Emma Tiley, the Lifestyle Manager, orchestrated the event with meticulous planning and enthusiasm. Her efforts were lauded by residents, with one remarking, "It was a wonderful day. Emma planned everything with so much thought and attention – I enjoyed all of the music, it was just perfect."
Emma shared her delight, observing families engaging in garden games, animal petting, face painting, and singing along with the music. The afternoon was a testament to the home’s success over the past year, highlighting the unity and dedication that make Waterhouse Manor a nurturing and joyful environment.
As Waterhouse Manor looks to the future, it remains committed to creating a vibrant and supportive home for its residents, ensuring their happiness and well-being continue to be at the heart of its mission. This celebration not only marked a year of achievements but also set the stage for countless more to come.
