Rossendale House Residents Enjoy Festive Garden Centre Outing
This week was filled with joy and laughter for some of the ladies at Rossendale House as they took a delightful trip to Townley Park Garden Centre. Blessed with a sunny autumn day, the residents embraced the opportunity to venture out and soak up the vibrant autumn atmosphere. Townley Park Garden Centre, well-known for its enchanting Halloween and Christmas displays, was the chosen destination.
Upon arriving, the ladies leisurely explored the gift shop, eagerly picking out spooky Halloween decorations to bring a festive spirit back to Rossendale House. The excitement of shopping built up quite an appetite, prompting a cosy stop at the café. Over warm cups of tea and plates of delicious golden chips, the residents shared stories, reminiscing about past visits to the garden centre with their families and chatting about life at the care home. It was heartening to hear their conversations about the warmth and companionship they find within the walls of Rossendale House.
Re-energised, the ladies continued their adventure to the Christmas grotto, where a delightful surprise awaited. Large polar bear statues captured Carolyn Winter’s heart, and a whimsical photo session ensued. Meanwhile, the other ladies explored the plant section, bubbling with ideas for the garden’s future blooms.
The outing was a heartwarming success, with smiles all around and kind words shared. Dorothy Needham expressed her joy, saying, "It has been so lovely to get out and about and feel that crisp autumn air—this is the best time of year. Thank you for a delightful afternoon." Sallie Moorhouse added, "What a beautiful afternoon, we have had such a laugh, and I enjoyed stealing Emily’s chips." Carolyn Winter, feeling festive, declared, "I feel so happy to be out. I have fond memories of Townley and being here with my mum. I loved the polar bears and the Christmas grotto—I feel all festive now."
Such experiences are a testament to the nurturing environment at Rossendale House, where friendships blossom, and every day holds the promise of something special.
