Rossendale House Introduces "Wednesday Wellness" for Resident Joy
Rossendale House in Burnley has introduced a delightful initiative named "Wednesday Wellness," a day dedicated to nurturing the mind, body, and soul of its residents. This transformative experience starts each Wednesday morning with "Stretch and Shine with Seven" through OOMPH!, an invigorating exercise session that sets a positive tone for the day.
After an energizing morning routine, residents are invited to visit the hydration station, ensuring everyone remains refreshed before enjoying a delicious lunch. It's an approach that beautifully underscores the home’s commitment to holistic care.
In keeping with the principle of person-centred care, the afternoon's activity was democratically chosen by the residents themselves. Opting to relax and absorb new knowledge, they settled down to watch an insightful documentary on the Commonwealth. The film not only served as a fascinating educational opportunity but also sparked cherished memories and engaging discussions among the residents.
Brian Beedham, one of the residents, shared his recollection of the Queen and Princess Margaret visiting Ireland during their Commonwealth tour, expressing how the documentary reignited fond memories. Meanwhile, Ann, another resident, admitted she was pleasantly surprised by how much she enjoyed learning more about an organisation she finds utterly wonderful.
This thoughtful blend of physical activity, personalised choice, and shared experiences perfectly illustrates why Rossendale House is a nurturing and compassionate environment for its residents. The staff’s dedication to enriching the lives of those in their care is evident every day, but "Wednesday Wellness" truly exemplifies their commitment to individual well-being.
Danforth Care Homes are currently welcoming residents, If you or a loved one wish to find out more information or come along, explore the facilities, and meet the staff, you can do so by contacting the enquiry team.
