Last week, residents of Orchard Manor gathered in the lounge to celebrate the King's birthday by watching the procession. The lounge, adorned with patriotic flags and decorations from the recent D-Day commemorations, perfectly suited the Trooping of the Colour. One resident, Ena, stood to attention the entire time the King was on screen, showing her appreciation for the royal.
In addition to the King's birthday, Orchard Manor had another special celebration. Resident Pam, affectionately known as "Aunty Pam" by staff and family, marked her 94th birthday in one of the garden lounges. Surrounded by the care team and her loved ones, Pam enjoyed a beautifully decorated homemade birthday cake presented by the head chef. The cake was a hit, and the celebration was filled with joy and laughter.
These special events brought the community of Orchard Manor together, creating cherished memories and a sense of togetherness for all.
