Barton Manor Care Home Commemorates a Memorable Day in Festive Style
The Grand Open Day at Barton Manor Care Home in Wisbech was a resounding success, bringing together the community and highlighting the exceptional care provided by Danforth Care Homes.
On Friday, September 1st, from 15:00-19:00, the care home's team worked tirelessly to create an atmosphere that felt more like a lively party than a traditional open day. Two team members, Alysha and Tereza, serenaded attendees with their beautiful voices, choosing songs that resonated with the home's vision. Their rendition of "A Million Dreams" from "The Greatest Showman" touched hearts and perfectly encapsulated Barton Manor's aspirations.
The day was also a feast for the senses, with the Head Chef preparing a delightful spread of homemade culinary delights. Adding to the culinary delights, Unit Manager Lindsey baked an enormous and delicious cake that received enthusiastic praise from all those in attendance.
The Grand Open Day served as an opportunity to introduce the beautiful Barton Manor Care Home to the Wisbech community and shine a spotlight on the exceptional team behind it. It was an occasion filled with pride and joy as the High Sheriff of Cambridgeshire, Dr. Bharatkumar Khetani, officially opened the home alongside his lovely wife. Dr. Khetani expressed his enjoyment of the afternoon, noting, "There is nothing like this in Wisbech," a sentiment echoed by many.
The Mayor of Wisbech and his wife also graced the event, underscoring the importance of Barton Manor Care Home within the community. The open day attracted a diverse array of professionals from various fields, including representatives from the local Fire and Police services, Clarkson Surgery, Palliative nurses, the falls prevention team, and numerous local businesses. Their presence highlighted the vital role the care home is set to play in Wisbech.
General Manager Andrea expressed her pride in the team's exceptional effort, stating, "I am so proud of this fantastic team who have pulled together and worked as a team to pull the afternoon together. They really have showcased their skills and passion, and more impressive is that they are a new but very bonded team already."
Front of House Manager Sally captured the sense of unity and community that permeated the day, saying, "The whole feel of the day was like a new community all coming together. Lots of laughter and new friendships formed."
Barton Manor Care Home left an indelible mark on the Wisbech community with its stunning facilities, devoted team, and unwavering commitment to providing exceptional care. As the doors officially opened on Monday 4th September admitting there first resident, it marked the beginning of a new era in care, characterised by warmth, support, and a strong sense of community.
